Lamborghini Aventador
The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engined flagship supercar produced by Lamborghini since 2012. It was created to replace the Lamborghini Murciélago, which was last produced in 2010 as the LP 670-4 SV.
Overview[edit | edit source]
In keeping with Lamborghini tradition, the Aventador is named after a fighting bull; in this case, Aventador was the name of a bull that fought particularly valiantly in the bullring of Zaragoza, Spain in 1993.
Each Aventador uses a 6,498 cc (6.5 L; 396.5 in3) naturally aspirated V12, a new in-housed developed one and the first all-new V12 since the 350GT's 3.5 L engine. Internally known as the L539, it makes a minimum of 700 PS (690 hp; 515 kW) and 690 N·m (509 ft·lb).[1]

The Veneno (lit. venom in Italian) is an Aventador-based hypercar that is famous for being one of the most expensive cars in the world, with a price tag of US$4.5 million.[5]
Created to celebrate the Lamborghini brand's 50th anniversary, alongside the one-off Gallardo-based Egoista concept car, the Veneno is also one of the rarest cars in the world, with only four units produced.[6] The Veneno is powered by a development of the L539 V12, making 750 PS (740 hp; 552 kW) at 8,400 rpm and 690 N·m (509 ft·lb) of torque at 5,500 rpm as a result of larger air intakes and a modified exhaust system.[7]

The Centenario is based on the Aventador SV and retains the carbon-fibre monocoque along with aluminium front and rear subframes from the standard Aventador. Power comes from a tuned version of the L539 V12 generating 770 PS (759 hp; 566 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 690 N·m (509 ft·lb) of torque at 5,500 rpm.[13] The Centenario is 11 lb (5 kg) lighter than the Aventador SV.[14][15]
