Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Main article: Lamborghini L539 engine/Swap List

The L539 engine can be swapped into various cars in all Forza Horizon games except Forza Horizon 2. This engine is primarily used to maximize the amount of power a car can obtain, with the maximum being 1,515 hp (1,130 KW) and 1,102 ft·lb (1,494 N·m). This makes the L539 the most powerful upgradable engine swap in the Forza series, ahead of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport's 8.0 L quad turbo W16 and Porsche 918 Spyder's 4.6 L hybrid V8 engine. Because of this, the L539 is perfect for drag racing and top speed applications, with the most notable examples of the latter being the Mosler MT900S, which can exceed 300 mph (483 km/h) with said engine swap, and the Shelby Monaco King Cobra, which is the fastest drag racing car in Forza Horizon 4.

In most cases, swapping out a car's engine for the L539 increases the car's weight. This is because of the L539 being slightly heavier than most other engine swaps. However, this can be balanced out by applying weight reduction upgrades.
