The 723 Quartz Regalia (Japanese: クォーツレガリア, Romaji: Kwōtsu Regaria) is a four-door convertible luxury sedan from the 2016 Japanese role-playing game Final Fantasy XV, developed by Square Enix.[1] It was added to Forza Horizon 3 as a reward car for all players who played either Forza Horizon 3 or Final Fantasy XV before August 1, 2017.[2] The car later returned in Forza Horizon 4 in Series 6.[3][4]
The Regalia, powered by a supercharged V12 engine, is the car that Final Fantasy XV main protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum, along with the rest of his friends, use to travel across Eos. It is King Regis's black convertible, identified by its license plate "RHS-113". In Final Fantasy XV, Noctis's party sometimes refers to it as "the old girl", apparently as a habit picked up from Cindy Aurum, head of the Hammerhead garage.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Design[edit | edit source]
The Regalia is depicted as a black, five-seat convertible with an interior made of dark leather and a steering wheel with visible paddle shifters. The convertible roof has similar articulation to the one from the Ferrari California.[5] Its crest bears a resemblance to a chocobo talon and is featured on its hubcaps and the tires. At night, the license plate lights up, although in the Forza series, this is only observed when the car is actually equipped with a license plate. The "RHS-113" license plate reads "Insomnia RHS-113 - The Royal Capital" in reference to the capital of Lucis and Regis Lucis Caelum and has the emblem of Lucis: a winged skull.
The Regalia is heavily based on the Cadillac Ciel concept car and Maybach Exelero."Insomnia RHS-113 - The Royal Capital" in reference to the capital of Lucis and Regis Lucis Caelum and has the emblem of Lucis: a winged skull. Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata commented, "I can't really tell you exactly which company we looked at, but certainly the design of the car in the game was inspired by German car manufacturers and a couple of British cars, as well."[6] At a Final Fantasy XV fan event in Tokyo in March 2016, the Regalia was revealed to resemble Rolls-Royce luxury cars while being inspired by various other manufacturers like Bentley, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bugatti, and Alfa Romeo.[7] The Regalia's design was directly influenced by a directive from Tabata calling for a "royal car that would have a value of over $500,000."[5]
The Regalia has a 60% / 40% weight distribution rating and a curb weight rating of 5,622 lb (2,550 kg), making it only 22 lb (10 kg) lighter than the Rolls-Royce Dawn. It is 6,400 mm (252 in) long and 2,200 mm (86.6 in) wide,[5] making it one of the longest vehicles in Forza history. It also carries 300/40R23 front and rear tires.[5]
Engine[edit | edit source]
The Regalia has a front-mounted 7,200 cc (7.2 L; 439.4 in3) centrifugal supercharged V12 that produces 433 hp (439 PS; 323 kW) and 511 ft·lb (693 N·m) of torque,[8] although it was originally rated at 536 hp (543 PS; 400 kW) and 800 N·m (590 ft·lb).[5] It has a power-to-weight ratio of 170 hp (172 PS; 127 kW) per tonne.
Drivetrain[edit | edit source]
The Regalia is all-wheel-drive. Included is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.[8]
Performance[edit | edit source]
- 0 - 60 mph (0 - 97 km/h): 4.8 seconds
- 0 - 100 mph (0 - 161 km/h): 11.5 seconds
- Top speed: 250 km/h (155 mph)
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Despite being exorbitantly massive and long, the Regalia does not lack in acceleration, as it can reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.8 seconds, putting it on par with Rolls-Royce vehicles and other low-end luxury cars. The fact that the Regalia is AWD by default also allows it to take on dirt roads more easily than other similar cars and launch out of standing starts without the threat of wheelspin. As a car meant more for cruising than racing, the Regalia has an acceptable top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The Regalia has a wide range of upgrades in general. allowing it to alleviate or at least reduce problems like understeer in corners and low top speeds. In Forza Horizon 4, its upgrade options are expanded further with the addition of Engine Swaps.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Due to having its year listed as 723, the Regalia is the oldest car in the Forza series.
- By contrast, the 2554 M12S Warthog CST is the newest car in the Forza series.
- The Regalia's engine note is a lower-pitched version of the Ferrari F12tdf's.
- In Forza Horizon 4, the Regalia is always driven with the roof down but appears with the roof up in Forzavista, in the same manner as the McLaren 650S Spider.
- In Forza Horizon 4, the minimum number of Skill Points required to unlock the Regalia's Type-D variant (113) is also a reference to the Regalia's license plate in the Final Fantasy XV universe, RHS-113.
