The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé (M-B GT 4 '18) is a four-door sports coupé produced by Mercedes-Benz's AMG tuning division.
The GT 63 S is the highest-performing model of the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT model range.[1][2]
Overview[edit | edit source]
Design[edit | edit source]
Unlike other AMG GT models, the GT 63 S uses a fixed carbon fiber rear wing.[1] Its design embodies AMG's design philosophy of sensual purity, striking proportions, and a voluminous body.[1] The GT 63 S can have either 50.8 cm (20 in) AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels or 53.3 cm (21 in) AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, the latter of which can be painted white or black.[1][3]
The GT 63 S has a curb weight of 4,447 lb (2,017 kg).[3] It comes with 10 different paint colors.[1]
Specifications[edit | edit source]
The GT 63 S uses the same 3,982 cc (4 L; 243 in3) twin-turbocharged M178 engine as the rest of the Mercedes-AMG GT family, but uptuned to make 639 PS (630 hp; 470 kW) between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm and 900 N·m (664 ft·lb) of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm.[1] Power is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission.[4][1]
Performance[edit | edit source]
The GT 63 S also features an electronically controlled locking differential that improves traction in all driving situations and rear axle steering that steers in the opposite direction up to 62 mph (100 km/h) to virtually cut the car's wheelbase. Above that speed, the rear axle steers in the same direction and virtually extends the wheelbase.[1]
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
In Forza Horizon 4, the GT 63 S is an exclusive car, available from April 11, 2019 to April 18, 2019 by achieving 50% completion on the Series 8 Horizon Summer Season.[6]
Official Turn 10 remarks[edit | edit source]
- “You don’t have to be an executive to appreciate the first class amenities of the latest in the line of super luxury four-door coupes from Europe. The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door is big in every sense of the word that matters to car lovers. Sure it’s big enough to cruise with threefull-size friends, but more importantly it has the full-size gusto under the hood you have come to expect from the Mercedes-AMG performance group that brought the world the SLS and AMG GT. Consider it the best of both worlds, twin-turbos and a V8. At full tilt you will feel the rush of 630 hp. Well enough to drift into the next dimension and beyond, or just dust the competition the immensity of its opulence.”[6]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
Mistakes[edit | edit source]
- The car's in-game name is wrongly displayed as just Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé despite the in-game model clearly being the GT 63 S model.
- In fact, Mercedes-AMG's Twitter account even clarifies this.[2]
