It might be slotted below McLaren’s extravagant P1 and 650S, but there’s nothing entry-level about the 570S. This masterpiece of McLaren expertise instead targets a different segment of clientele and does so with astounding results. Taking cues from the P1’s front end, the 570S is smart not only in looks but also how the air passes over every bit of its flowing body curves. Behind the luxurious and functional cockpit is a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that delivers an exhaust note that is almost as glorious as the feeling of the car’s ungodly acceleration. The 570S is a car whose beauty is only surpassed by its performance.[1]

The McLaren 570S Coupé (McLaren 570S) is a mid-engined supercar produced by McLaren Automotive since 2015 as the first McLaren Sports Series model.[2] It is featured in the Forza series from the Forza Motorsport 6 DLC add-on Turn 10 Select Car Pack onwards.[1]

Overview[edit | edit source]

Design and technical details[edit | edit source]

The 570S was designed to deliver "day-to-day usability and driveability" against the most sporting model options in its range with increased luggage space, greater interior storage and leather upholstery options. The supercar is designed with aerodynamics in mind, and its teardrop shaped cockpit helps achieve that objective. The rear of the car is inspired by the P1 and borrows the slim LED tail lights and diffuser styling from the flagship hybrid hypercar. The 570S's doors are of the butterfly/dihedral type, a trademark of McLaren as featured in its Super Series and Ultimate Series models.[3][4]

Sitting at the rear of the car in a mid-mounted configuration is a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 in3) twin-turbocharged V8 engine called the M838TE, a variant of the famed M838T.[3] The "E" stands for "Evolution".[3] In the 570S, it produces 570 PS (562 hp; 419 kW) and 600 N·m (443 ft·lb) of torque. The M838TE features 30% new components compared to earlier M838T variants.[2] Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed SSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and transmitted to the road via Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, and this power is then brought under control with standard-fit carbon ceramic brakes.[2]

The 570S uses a carbon fiber chassis[2] and has a curb weight of 3,201 lb (1,452 kg).[5] In-game, it is lighter at 3,016 lb (1,368 kg), pushing the power-to-weight ratio to 417 PS (411 hp; 306 kW) per tonne.[6]

Official Turn 10 remarks[edit | edit source]

The 570S is the latest sports car to come out of the McLaren Technology Center. As the little brother to the P1’s little brother (aka the 650S), the 570S exudes all the precision and passion that fans have to expect. While the current F1 season might be a struggle for McLaren fans, you will certainly have a chance to win with this car.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The 570S featured in the Forza series does not come with the Track Pack option, evidenced by the body color-painted roof and mirrors.
