The 2004 Maserati MC12 Forza Edition (MC12 FE) is a special Forza Edition variant of the Maserati MC12. It is featured in Forza Horizon 4, available through the Maserati 300 S's Car Mastery tree.[1]
Overview[edit | edit source]
Design[edit | edit source]
The MC12 FE retains the standard MC12's chassis and exterior design, but has the Race Front Bumper and Race Rear Wing installed; the latter comes as a ducktail spoiler, the same one that can be installed onto the normal MC12.[1]
The MC12 FE is also colored blue, a slightly darker shade from the Maserati MC12 Versione Corsa's stock color.[1] The MC12 FE's rims are now black Enkei RPF1 rims,[1] although installing the actual Enkei RPF1 rims from the Sport Rim Style selection will decrease the MC12 FE's weight by 12 lb (5 kg).[1] The front tires measure 255/35R19 while the rear tires measure 345/35R19.[1]
The MC12 FE's camber alignment is set to -2.0° and -1.3° for the front and rear, respectively, paired with a 7.0° front caster angle.[1] It has front and rear anti-roll bar stiffness ratings of 33.03 and 23.75, respectively.[1]
Technical specifications[edit | edit source]
The MC12 FE's normal M144D 6.0 L V12 engine has been normally swapped out in favor of the Ferrari F50 GT's Tipo F130B 4,700 cc (4.7 L; 286.8 in3) racing V12 engine, with upgrades to the pistons, compression, oil, and cooling to make 769 hp (780 PS; 573 kW) at 11,000 rpm and 393 ft·lb (533 N·m) of torque at 7,000 rpm.[1]
The MC12 FE has also been augmented with weight reduction upgrades, bringing its weight down to 2,536 lb (1,150 kg), saving 839 lb (381 kg) from the normal MC12. This results in a power-to-weight ratio of 669 hp (678 PS; 499 kW) per tonne or 3.3 lb (1.5 kg) per horsepower.[1]
The MC12 FE's transmission is based on the six-speed sequential manual found in the normal MC12, but it now has the following gear ratios:[1]

The rear differential is set to 35% for acceleration.[1]
Performance[edit | edit source]
By default, the MC12 FE is rated S2 997 and is capable of 0 - 60 mph (0 - 97 km/h) in 3.57 seconds and 0 - 100 mph (0 - 161 km/h) in 6.9 seconds. It is also capable of a top speed of above 352 km/h (219 mph) and can pull off 2.9 lateral Gs. The MC12 FE generates 842 lb (382 kg) of downforce, divided into a 50% / 50% balance for front and rear,[1] although the rear wing can generate up to 642 lb (291 kg) of downforce, resulting in a maximum total of 1,063 lb (482 kg).
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
The MC12 FE is obtainable through the Maserati 300 S's Car Mastery for 29 Skill Points. It has also been featured in the #FORZATHON Shop several times, and was recently featured in Series 11 as the Summer 80% Completion reward.[2]
When upgraded with the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4's 6.5 L V12 L539 engine, the MC12 FE is the fastest Forza Edition car in road racing disciplines, capable of posting lap times in Class X that surpass those of the McLaren Senna, Radical RXC Turbo, and Porsche 918 Spyder. It is capable of strong handling, quick acceleration, and high top speeds of up to 431 km/h (268 mph). To date, the MC12 FE is only surpassed by the MC12 Corsa '08, Apollo Intensa Emozione, Porsche 911 GT3 RS PreOrder Car, McLaren 720S Coupé PreOrder Car, Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione, and Mosler MT900S. It is worth noting that even with the L539 engine installed, which usually adds a fair bit of weight to the car it is installed in, the MC12 FE is still capable of excellent handling and grip. Regardless, the MC12 FE can be considered a "king" of Class X.
With the F50 GT's Racing V12, the MC12 FE gains better handling, allowing it to take on Speed Zones on asphalt roads.
Within Class S2, the MC12 FE is a decent competitor, as it is also capable of posting Class S2 lap/race times similar to those of the Ferrari F40 Competizione, Pagani Zonda R, Apollo IE, and Ultima Evolution Coupe 1020.
Overall, the MC12 FE is highly recommended as despite the high price of 6,000,000 CR required to buy the Maserati 300 S from which the MC12 FE can be obtained, the MC12 FE is still capable of decent performance against its competitors, whether it be in Class S2 or Class X. The Auction House is not a recommended way to get the 300 S due to the likelihood of the 300 S's MC12 FE Car Mastery perk having been unlocked, although the MC12 FE can still be bought from the Auction House if the player does not want to buy a 300 S for 6,000,000 CR.

The MC12 FE retains the same advanced paint groups for the body as the normal MC12.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The MC12 FE's performance and coloring suggest that it was a stand-in for the MC12 Corsa until the latter was finally added to Forza Horizon 4 in Series 9.
- In addition, its specs with the upgrade preset are close to those of the MC12 Corsa, further supporting this theory.
