The Koenigsegg Agera RS (Agera RS) is a high-performance variant of the Koenigsegg Agera hypercar. It is available in Forza Horizon 4 as part of said game's Car Pass from September 27, 2018 onwards.
The Agera RS is famous for being the current fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h).[1] In 2019, its successor, the Koenigsegg Jesko, was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS takes the standard Agera R as the base, but is more advanced by comparison. Only 25 units were built.
Design / Chassis[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS has a shape identical to the Agera R but with elements derived from the Agera R, Agera S, and One:1.
The Agera RS has a curb weight of 3,075 lb (1,395 kg).[2] The Agera RS features a carbon fiber chassis with aluminum honeycomb and integrated fuel tanks and has a monocoque torsional rigidity of 47,942 ft·lb (65,000 N·m) per degree.[2] The chassis weighs only 154 lb (70 kg) with the tanks included.[2] The Agera RS also comes with advanced front and rear suspensions, both of which feature double wishbones, carbon fiber rear upper wishbones, two-way electronically adjustable gas-hydraulic shock absorbers, and a pushrod operated Triplex damper in the rear.[2]
Just like the One:1, the Agera RS has a 44% / 56% front/rear weight distribution balance.
Engine / Drivetrain[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS's 5,065 cc (5.1 L; 309.1 cu in) twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces 1,160 hp (865 kW; 1,176 PS) at 7,800 rpm and 944 ft·lb (1,280 N·m) of torque at 4,100 rpm as standard.[2] With the 1 MW upgrade, the engine's total output is raised to 1,341 hp (1 MW; 1,000 kW; 1,360 PS) and 1,011 ft·lb (1,371 N·m) of torque, the same as with the One:1.[2] The Agera RS has a power-to-weight ratio of 961 hp (717 KW) per tonne, the third highest for any Koenigsegg model, behind the One:1's 986 hp (735 KW; 1,000 PS) per tonne. However, it has the same specific power output of 265 hp (197 kW; 268 PS) per liter.
The Agera RS's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters remains unchanged from the other Agera models, and comes with the Koenigsegg Electronic Differential (KED) and Koenigsegg Gearbox Control Module (KGCM).[2] The gear ratios also remain unchanged from the One:1.
Performance[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS is capable of 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, 0 - 100 mph (161 km/h) in 4.65 seconds, and a top speed slightly exceeding its real-life 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h) top speed.[3]
World records[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS is notable for five world records, all achieved by Niklas Lilja:[4][1]
- Highest top speed for a production car: 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h), averaged from the tailwind run of 284.55 mph (457.94 km/h) and the headwind run of 271.19 mph (436.44 km/h). This top speed beats the 267.856 mph (431.072 km/h) and 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) records of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and Hennessey Venom GT, respectively.
- 0 - 249 - 0 mph (0 - 400 - 0 km/h): 33.29 seconds, beating the Bugatti Chiron's 41.96 seconds. The Agera RS hits 249 mph (400 km/h) in 24 seconds and then brakes to a stop 9.29 seconds later across 1,638 ft (499.3 m).
- Fastest flying kilometer on a public road: 276.9 mph (445.6 km/h), beating the previous 268 mph (431 km/h) record set by the Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen in 1938.[5]
- Fastest flying mile on a public road: 276.36 mph (444.76 km/h), also beating the previous 268.74 mph (432.50 km/h) record set by the Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen in 1938.[5]
- Highest speed recorded on a public road: 284.55 mph (457.94 km/h), also beating the W125 Rekordwagen's fastest flying mile record.[5]
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS stands as the fastest stock car in the Forza series, topping even the Plymouth GTX Fast & Furious Edition and Hennessey Venom GT, with a top speed of 455 km/h (283 mph). At stock, it accelerates to 400 km/h (249 mph) faster than any other car sans the Rimac C_Two, making it a good choice for high-speed routes, Speed Traps, and Danger Signs. The "speed bump" trick can be used to further increase the Agera RS's speed to 467 km/h (290 mph).
The Agera RS is among one of the fastest cars in the Hypercars championship speed-wise, alongside the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Forza Edition and Koenigsegg CC8S. In Class X Road Racing Series events, the Agera RS is best suited for high-speed routes.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
Like with the One:1 and Regera, the Agera RS is plagued with strong wheelspin when accelerating under full throttle, requiring the player to feather the throttle more often or risk spinning out and crashing. In addition, the Agera RS features moderate understeer when compared to the Agera RS, due to the Agera RS's aero settings being set to the absolute minimum for both the front splitter and rear wing.
With the introductions of the Mosler MT900S, Rimac C_Two, and Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione, the Agera RS is now obsolete for Speed Traps, Danger Signs, and top speed benchmarking runs.
Customization[edit | edit source]
The Agera RS has two advanced paint groups for both the body and hood:
- Paint Group 1, the main body color.
- Paint Group 2, the main stripe color.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
Mistakes[edit | edit source]
- The Agera RS erroneously reuses various parts from the One:1, including the front trunk and seats.
- The Agera RS's engine note is that of the Hoonigan Ford “Hoonicorn” Mustang and its GYMKHANA 10 counterpart instead of the more accurate one previously used by the One:1.
- The 5.1 L V8 TT engine swap for the Koenigsegg CC8S and Koenigsegg CCX is derived from the One:1, not the Agera RS, as mistaken by some players.
- The Agera RS's rims suffer from a bug with their advanced paint groups that causes them to look abnormally different in comparison to the One:1's rims.
