The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C7) (leaderboard name: Corvette '19) is a high-performance supercar and the highest-performing road legal variant of the C7 Corvette, produced since 2018.
The C7 ZR1 is heavily based on the C7 Z06 and succeeds the C6 ZR1.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Design / Chassis[edit | edit source]
The C7 ZR1 is based strongly on the C7 Z06 but with a visible aero package developed in collaboration with Pratt & Miller's Corvette racing team in wind tunnels which includes a large rear wing sitting directly on the chassis, a front splitter, and a new front underbody spoiler for balancing out excess drag. A fixed wing was added after the engineers at Corvette Racing discovered that an active rear wing serves no more than an aesthetic purpose.
The optional aero package available for the C7 ZR1 is the ZTK performance package which adds a higher fixed rear wing with five degrees of adjustment levels and generates 60% more downforce than the C7 Z06 with the Z07 package but also reduces top speed due to aerodynamic drag. The ZTK performance package also adds a new carbon fiber front splitter end caps for added downforce.
The C7 ZR1 is heavier than the C7 Z06, at 3,560 lb (1,615 kg) due to the added fluids for the cooling system. The C7 ZR1 also has a neutral 50% / 50% front/rear weight distribution.
Engine / Drivetrain[edit | edit source]
The C7 ZR1 uses an LT5 V8, which displaces 6,162 cc (6.2 L; 376 in3) and is equipped with a 2.6 L Eaton supercharger that is 52% larger than that of the C7 Z06 along with a fuel injection system, resulting in a higher power output of 755 hp (765 PS; 563 kW) at 6,300 rpm and 970 N·m (715 ft·lb) of torque at 4,400 rpm.[1]
The C7 ZR1 also includes an improved engine cooling system with large cooling vents in the front bumpers, vents on the bonnet and a larger intercooler. The cooling system also adds 4 more radiators for a total of 13. Due to the large supercharger and intercooler, an opening is made in the bonnet but is concealed by making the intercooler cover in such a way that it looks like a part of the bonnet.
The C7 ZR1 is available with a seven-speed Tremec TR-6070 manual transmission with rev-matching technology or an eight-speed GM 8L90 automatic transmission with paddle shifters identical to those in the C7 Z06. The Forza renditions of the car use the eight-speed automatic.
Performance[edit | edit source]
The C7 ZR1 has a maximum speed of 214.88 mph (345.82 km/h) and an official top speed of at least 212 mph (341 km/h).[2]
With the combination of the high rear wing and front underbody spoiler, the car generates 950 lb (431 kg) of downforce at top speed.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The C7 ZR1 features improved handling and acceleration from the C7 Z06, allowing it to compete with the likes of the Dodge Viper ACR and Ferrari 812 Superfast on short or medium-length tracks.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
The C7 ZR1's overall performance in comparison to top-performing S1 Class or S2 Class cars is rather disappointing, as when both the C7 ZR1 and C7 Z06 are upgraded to the top of S1 Class with similar tuning, the C7 Z06 is actually superior.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
Mistakes[edit | edit source]
- Like with the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, the C7 ZR1's rear wing does not have adjustable downforce.
- The C7 ZR1's rims and cluster gauges were incorrectly reused from the C7 Z06. These were fixed in the Series 6 update.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- Forza Horizon 4 marks the C7 ZR1's first playable appearance in a console racing game.
- As with the C7 Z06, the C7 ZR1's roof is removable in Forzavista.
