The BMW M5 Forza Edition (E28) (BMW M5 '88 FE) is a special Forza Edition variant of the BMW M5 (E28) in Forza Horizon 4.[1]

Overview[edit | edit source]

The E28 M5 FE has had its 3.5 L inline-6 engine swapped out in favor of the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34)'s RB26DETT 2.6 L twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine, with upgrades to the twin turbochargers make 448 hp (334 kW) and 460 N·m (339 ft·lb) of torque.[1] With regards to the paint job, the E28 M5 FE has the same default black factory color as the standard E28 M5.[1]

The E28 M5 FE is also considerably lighter than the normal E28 M5, with a weight of 2,682 lb (1,217 kg), thanks to Race-level weight reduction and brake upgrades.[1] Its transmission and rear differential have been upgraded to the Race level, while its clutch has been upgraded to the Sport level. These result in slightly faster gear shifting when compared to the normal E28 M5. It has a final drive ratio of 4.23.[1]

Its front and rear camber are tilted at -2.0° and -1.0°, respectively, while it sits at 3.6 in (91.4 mm) and 5.2 in (132.1 mm) at the front and rear, respectively.[1]

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The E28 M5 FE is an Exclusive Car in Forza Horizon 4. It can be obtained from the Horizon Wheelspin. It was also obtainable in the #FORZATHON Shop in Series 2 Spring, in Series 6 as a Ranked Adventure League reward, and in the Series 9 Horizon Spring Season as 80% reward.

The E28 M5 FE comes with a built-in Event Influence Boost, making it ideal for earning more Influence Points in races. This is especially useful if the player wants to level up through any one of the five racing disciplines (Road Racing Series, Cross Country Series, Dirt Racing Series, Street Scene, and The Drag Strip) more quickly.
