The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991.2) (911 GT3 RS '19[1][2]) is a rear-engined track car and the highest-performing naturally aspirated variant of the 991.2-facelifted 991 generation of the Porsche 911.

Unveiled in February 2018, the 991.2 GT3 RS, equipped with the optional Weissach Package option, set a lap time of 6:56.4 at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit, beating the Porsche 918 Spyder and falling behind the twin-turbocharged 991.2 GT2 RS.[3][4]

Overview[edit | edit source]

Design / Chassis[edit | edit source]

The 991.2 GT3 RS features NACA ducts for brake cooling, a modified front fascia more similar to the 991.2 GT3, side skirts and rear wing similar to the 991.2 GT2 RS, ball joints on all suspension links, front helper springs, windows made out of lightweight glass, and a new tire compound.

It also has a weight of 3,153 lb (1,430 kg), up 22 lb (10 kg) from the 991.1 GT3 RS. 39% of the car's weight is distributed to the front.

Engine / Drivetrain[edit | edit source]

The 991.2 GT3 RS features the same 3,996 cc (4 L; 243.9 in3) naturally aspirated MA1.76 flat-6 engine as the 991.1 GT3 RS, but updated to make 514 hp (521 PS; 383 kW) and 470 N·m (347 ft·lb) of torque.

The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox remains unchanged from the 991.1 GT3 RS.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

In Forza Horizon 4, the 991.2 GT3 RS cannot be obtained from the Autoshow. Instead, it must be obtained from the Auction House or #FORZATHON Shop. It was offered in the #FORZATHON Shop on the following dates:

Advantages[edit | edit source]

The 991.2 GT3 RS's advantages are carried over from the 991.1 GT3 RS, albeit with improved handling, acceleration, braking, and top speed, with the latter being 220 mph (354 km/h), the same as the GT3 RS's GT2 RS counterpart.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

Against similarly ranked cars, the 991.2 GT3 RS has slower acceleration beyond 204 km/h (127 mph) and can run into oversteer if the player takes a corner too quickly due to the car's superb but somewhat sensitive handling. In addition, it has some of the same disadvantages as the 991.1 GT3 RS.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The 991.2 GT3 RS is featured without the Weissach Package option in the Forza games.

Mistakes[edit | edit source]

  • The 991.2 GT3 RS's rear wing lacks adjustable downforce.
  • In Forza Horizon 4, the 991.2 GT3 RS was wrongly given a Common rarity when the game was first released.
    • It was later changed to Rare and then Legendary. In Series 16, it was rerated once again to Epic, the same rarity as the 991.1 GT3 RS.
