The 2018 Top Gear Track-Tor (TG Track-Tor) is a custom-made tractor made for the long-running British car franchise Top Gear.[1] As the first drivable tractor in Forza, the TG Track-Tor is available in Forza Horizon 4 from Series 11 onwards as one of the three cars unlockable from the Horizon Story named The Top Gear Horizon Special,[2] which is narrated by Chris Harris himself.[3]
Overview[edit | edit source]
Technical details and specifications[edit | edit source]
The TG Track-Tor, based on a Chevrolet Blazer chassis, is a tractor that has been modified for racing and high-speed driving purposes, including a fixed rear wing and a reinforced roll cage, as well as taillights derived from the Ariel Atom.[1] Unlike regular tractors, the Track-Tor has brakes on both the front and rear axles as opposed to just the rear axle.[1] In addition, it has an adjustable air suspension system in a similar manner to Land Rover Range Rover vehicles.[1]
The wheels are 20 in (50.8 cm) split rims fitted in 54 in (137.2 cm) Super Swamper Bogger rear tires.[1] The Track-Tor also comes with a twin-hydraulic handbrake, allowing each rear wheel to be locked independently of one another.[1] It also features a Wellington boot and spade rack, in addition to a rotating boot brush, which Top Gear describes as a "toilet brush connected to a drill".[1]
Housed in the front bay of the Track-Tor is a Chevrolet 5,735 cc (5.7 L; 350 in3) naturally aspirated V8 engine modified to make 500 hp (507 PS; 373 kW) and 430 ft·lb (583 N·m) of torque.[1] It is paired to a five-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.[4] The Track-Tor has a curb weight of 5,500 lb (2,495 kg) and a neutral 50% / 50% weight distribution.[4]
Performance[edit | edit source]
The Track-Tor is capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and 100 mph (161 km/h) in 19.4 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 201 km/h (125 mph).[4]
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
- The TG Track-Tor might be the slowest car in the Extreme Offroad division of Forza Horizon 4, but the Track-Tor should certainly not be underestimated, as it is capable of dominating Rivals leaderboards on Dirt Racing Series routes in Classes C and B with a proper tune (especially Class B).
- In fact, it can be described as the new best Class B car, although it is heavily biased towards handling, braking, and acceleration, while the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe is slightly more balanced but with a better top speed.
- As of Series 16, the Track-Tor and Hot Wheels Bone Shaker are no longer usable in Rivals and Online Adventure due to their severely unbalanced performance in comparison to all other cars when tuned to the top of their respective dominant classes.
- In fact, it can be described as the new best Class B car, although it is heavily biased towards handling, braking, and acceleration, while the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe is slightly more balanced but with a better top speed.
- The TG Track-Tor is the main vehicle in the The Top Gear Horizon Special chapter "Faster than 87.2", where the player has to drive the TG Track-Tor through the M68's Speed Trap above 87.2 mph (140.3 km/h) to complete it. Achieving 124 mph (200 km/h) results in 3 stars for the chapter.
- To drive the TG Track-Tor in "Faster than 87.2", though, the player must first park Chris Harris's black BMW 1 Series M Coupé on a middle curb on the M68 without completely filling up the damage meter.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
Mistakes[edit | edit source]
- Due to the technical limitations of the Forzatech engine, the Track-Tor's rear wheels cannot be locked independently of one another.
- In real life, the Track-Tor's headlights are recycled from an Ariel Atom. However, in Forza Horizon 4, they are changed to a set of generic round headlights.
