There is no substitute for the Veyron Super Sport; even among hypercars it stands alone. The Veyron alone is the fastest car in the world but, for some, that is not enough. If the Super Sport cannot quench your thirst for over-the-top speed and horsepower the only alternative is start racing airplanes, because very few machines match the SS for pure ground speed.[1]

The 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (Bugatti SS, Bugatti Veyron) is a limited-production, mid-engined hypercar based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 as a faster, more powerful variant of it. Using the World Record Edition model, the Veyron Super Sport was introduced in the VIP Pack for Forza Motorsport 4 and has returned to all subsequent installments of the franchise, including Forza Motorsport 5 where it was available in the VIP Pack.

The Veyron Super Sport was notable for being the world's fastest production car for much of the 2010s, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph), which was achieved in 2010.[2] It was later beaten by the Koenigsegg Agera RS with 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph) in 2017.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Changes from the Bugatti Veyron 16.4[edit | edit source]

  • New set of LED headlights.
  • More powerful 7,993 cc quad-turbocharged W16 engine, now making 1,200 PS (1,183 hp; 882 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 1,500 N·m (1,106 ft·lb) of torque at 3,000 rpm.[3]
  • Improved performance, with 0 - 60 mph (0 - 97 km/h) in 2.4 seconds, 0 - 100 mph (0 - 161 km/h) in 5 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 415 km/h (258 mph).[3]
  • Revised aerodynamics.[3]
  • Decreased weight, now at 4,044 lb (1,834 kg).[4] This results in a power-to-weight ratio of 645 hp (654 PS; 481 kW) per tonne.

World Record Edition[edit | edit source]

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition is a special variant of the Veyron Super Sport, limited to five units. It is easily distinguishable by its orange body detailing and rims, along with its special black exposed carbon fiber body. It also forgoes the electronic limiter to achieve its top speed of 431 km/h (268 mph).[5]

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The Veyron Super Sport has astoundingly quick acceleration, putting it in direct competition with the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1, and Hennessey Venom GT in this aspect. The Veyron Super Sport also holds one of the highest top speeds in the series, with 432 km/h (268 mph). These make the Veyron Super Sport ideal for race routes that are almost entirely focused on speed. Out of all Bugatti models, the Veyron Super Sport is slotted inbetween the Veyron 16.4 and Divo (both 410 km/h (255 mph)) and Chiron (433 km/h (269 mph)).

The Veyron Super Sport, despite having drastically superior handling over the Veyron 16.4, still suffers from understeer, making it useless on handling-focused routes. It also reaches 400 km/h (249 mph) slower than only a few cars: Koenigsegg Agera RS, Koenigsegg One:1, Koenigsegg Regera, Hennessey Venom GT, Bugatti Chiron, and Rimac Concept Two. In addition, even when modified and upgraded for top speed, the Veyron Super Sport's top speed does not increase by much, making it less useful for Speed Traps, which is further compounded by the Veyron Super Sport's handling. Despite this, in Forza Horizon 4, the Veyron Super Sport is still a decent choice for Speed Traps, including Seasonal PR Stunts.

Conversions[edit | edit source]

  • Drivetrain
    • RWD (Forza Motorsport 5 onwards)

Customization[edit | edit source]

In Forza Horizon 4, the Veyron Super Sport has two advanced paint groups for the body:

  • Paint Group 1: the main body color.
  • Paint Group 2: the orange body detailing.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Veyron Super Sport's 8.0 liter quad-turbocharged W16 can be swapped into the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport in the Forza Horizon series. It is known as "8.0L W16 - Quad Turbo".
  • The Veyron Super Sport's rear wing always remains in carbon fiber black unless painted over with decals.
  • The Veyron Super Sport's front trunk also always remains locked.
  • From Forza Horizon onwards, the Veyron Super Sport's leaderboard name is now Bugatti Veyron due to the 2009 Veyron 16.4's removal, leaving the Veyron Super Sport as the sole Veyron model.

Achievements[edit | edit source]

  • Hitting 415 km/h (258 mph) or greater on any Speed Trap in the Veyron Super Sport unlocks the "Record Breaker" achievement in Forza Horizon 4.

Mistakes[edit | edit source]

  • Despite the Veyron Super Sport having a quad-turbocharged engine, the engine upgrades show a Twin Turbo upgrade area instead.
